Accreditation
The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is recognized as the national competent authority for accrediting Canadian certifying bodies under ISO-65 guidelines.
ISO-65
ISO, the International Organization for Standardization, is a worldwide standards organization committed to developing and promoting international standards. The Standards Council of Canada is the Canadian member body for ISO. ISO-65 defines the general requirements for bodies operating product certification systems.

Currently, only 2 Canadian certifying bodies have been accredited by the SCC: OCPP/Pro-Cert Canada Inc and the Organic Producers Association of Manitoba Co-operative Inc (OPAM).
More details on the accreditation of new and existing certification bodies will follow with the approval of the proposed organic regulations.
