OCO is the credible voice on organic issues in Ontario… working together to put more organic food on Ontario’s plates.  OCO Members from along the organic value chain, from producer to processor to eater, work together to raise the profile of organics as a good news story for health, climate change mitigation, and sustainability.

OCO’s work focuses on:

  • Connecting health and environmental issues with food production
  • Engaging people with a stake in organic
  • Making sure the organic industry is working together as a force to get more organics on more plates
  • Keeping Ontario organic on the agenda provincially and federally

Strategic Plan

The Ontario Organic Strategic Plan 2008-2011 incorporates a value-chain approach to growing the organic sector in Ontario.  The strategy identifies 5 main areas of focus:

  • Sector Analysis of the Ontario Organic sector
  • Increasing Organic Production in Ontario
  • Increasing Organic Processing in Ontario
  • Marketing Ontario Organics
  • Research & Development of the Organic sector

This Ontario Organic Strategic Plan focuses on barriers to growth of the Ontario organic sector and recommendations to enable high-quality, competitive Ontario products access to this excellent market opportunity.

The Ontario Organic Strategic Plan will be reviewed on an annual basis.  We encourage all stakeholders to submit feedback and proposals for new initiatives.
